ABSTRACT
A ship which takes the power from solar radiation for propelling itself on water. This ship runs completely on solar energy. The concept is to drive the solar ship as well as it will store the energy in the battery present on the ship. During the bright sunshine, the ship will propel itself with the help of solar radiation only there is no involvement of any battery. But after sunset, the ship will use battery power for its propelling. We all know the process of import-export in between India and western countries is completely depends upon sea traveling ships. Every year India loses cores of foreign currency for this traveling. So here we want to prove our statement about renewable energy sources. The conventional sources of energy are getting exhausted due to their continuous use. There are numerous researches on alternatives available for conventional energy. It Is concluded that solar energy should be preferred than any other alternatives due to their availability.
We are concentrating on one fact that whatever the load is there on the ship is, it balanced on the water and whatever power required to drive the ship is just a push force.
In this project, we are making a small working model of the solar ship. The ship that runs on solar power only. The conventional ship is running on fossil fuels. The solar power can be effectively and successfully utilized for the ship.
The traveling of commercial ships is near about 6-7 month continuously. This transportation consumes 1.5 billion litres fuel per year. Introducing this concept in the conventional shipping process we can save this fuel as our working model do not require any external power supply for its operation
INTRODUCTION OF SOLAR SHIP

WORKING PRINCIPLE
solar panel present on the ship receives the solar radiations from the sunlight which is utilized by two loads. First is the electric load of a motor to which a propeller is attached and the second load is the battery storage.
The solar panel is designed in such a way that both loads will run at a time without any energy shortage.
